June 2009 Nurse Licensure Examination

The PRC reported that 32,617 out of 77,901 passed the Nurse License Examination in various cities nationwide.

Golda Manto Yap, a graduate of Felipe Verallo Memorial Foundation in Cebu, topped the board examination with a rating of 86.90 percent, followed by Ronie Rose Capati Arevalo of Adamson University with 86.40 percent.

Arellano University graduate Michelle Barberan placed third, with 86.20, while Caroline May Chamen of Philippine College of Health and Sciences and Clarissa Escober of Naga College Foundation were fourth with 86 per cent.

In the fifth slot were University of Sto. Tomas graduates Marco Dometita, Magaret Encarnacion, and Marc Marzan, and Lalaine Perlas of Our Lady of Fatima and Debbie Rose Tanengsy of Velez College.

About 40 other graduates of UST, University of the Philippines and other nursing schools in the country shared the remaining top 10 spots by garnering over 84 percent rating in the examination.

Marco Sto.Tomas, Board of Nursing member, said the new nurses would have to register with the PRC and take their oath at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City next month.
