April 2011 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination

A graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman topped the licensure examination for chemical engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

The PRC said Luther Debu Tabano obtained a score of 84.6 percent and led over 300 examinees who took the licensure examination held in Manila.

Out of the 333 examinees, only 157 passed the examination.

Two other UP-Diliman graduates, Basil James Santos and Nina Maelin Briones, landed in second and third spot with 82.4 percent and 82.2 percent, respectively.

Fourth placer was Kenneth Soriano of Adamson University with a grade of 81.3 percent, while Mairus Siegfried Convite of UP-Los BaƱos and Arsenia Ramona Carmen Juanillo of University of San Carlos shared fifth place with a score of 80.5 percent.

Another Adamson University graduate, Julie Anne Vanta, placed sixth by obtaining a grade of 80.4 percent, while Jerico Victor Mercado, of De La Salle University-Manila captured seventh spot with a grade of 80.2 percent. Charlie Rivamonte of Cebu Institute of Technology got a grade of 80.2 percent and placed eighth in the examination.

The oath-taking ceremony of the successful examinees as well as the previous passers who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be on May 27 at the Manila Hotel.
