March 2011 Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination

A graduate of the Mapua Institute of Technology topped the latest mechanical engineering licensure examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

The PRC said Oliver Revalo bested 1,220 examinees by garnering a grade of 91.60 percent. Only 658 examinees passed, the PRC said.

With a grade of 91.50 percent, Mindanao State University (MSU) graduate Mark Loyd Abaya placed second, followed by Technological University of the Philippines (TUP-Manila) graduate Miguel Yap, who scored 90.55 percent.

University of San Carlos (USC) graduate Gromyko Geraldino Jr. landed in fourth place with a score of 89.85 percent while Raymond de la Cruz of Bulacan State University placed fifth with a grade of 89.50 percent.

In sixth place is Gerwin Desquitado of Cebu Institute of Technology with a grade of 88.60 percent, followed by another Mapua graduate, Ralph Lawrence Kua, who obtained a grade of 88.25 percent.

Another MSU graduate, Joel Jorban, is in eighth place with a grade of 87.64 percent and USC graduate Joseph Karl Contento placed ninth with a grade of 87.55 percent.

Completing the top 10 is Jino Karlo Rivera of University of the Philippines-Diliman with a grade of 87.25 percent.

The PRC also reported that 20 examinees passed the professional electronics engineer examination held in Manila.

Registration for the issuance of professional identification card and certificate of registration will be from March 25 to April 15. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the roster of registered professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony for the latest batch of successful examinees as well as those who have not yet been sworn in as professionals will be on April 25 at the Manila Hotel.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 658 out of 1,220 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in Manila and Cebu this March 2011.
