May 2009 Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Licensure Examination

A total of 1,231 out of 4,262 examinees passed the licensure examinations for certified public accountants given this year, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reported yesterday.

De La Salle University (DLSU) graduate Conrad Jonathan Tan Lee topped the licensure examination with a score of 92.57 percent, followed by Leomar Rita Cabarles of University of Rizal System-Binangonan with 92 percent.

In third place was Mabel Laguerta Buted of DLSU with 91.14 percent, and Joseph Ian Concepcion Asuncion of the University of the East in fourth place with 91 percent.

Larianne Kristine Betancor of University of San Jose Recoletos got 90.71 percent, a grade that landed her in fifth place while Philippine Christian University graduate Reinier Jeffrey Abdon and Oliver Bartolome both garnered 90.57 to place sixth in the list.

Other DLSU graduates Daniel Jan del Mundo and Angelica Christine Torres placed 7th and 9th with a rating of 90.29 and 89.57 percent, respectively.

University of Cebu graduate Jeramael Villaber ranked 8th with 89.71 percent while Maximlian Achan of St. Louis University landed in 10th with 88.71 percent.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday (May 25) and run until June 11.

PRC said successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees as well as previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on June 22 at 1 p.m. at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
