September 2008 Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examination

he Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said yesterday that 1,384 of 2,463 examinees passed the "various grades of the written phase" of the Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Marine Engineer Officers this month.

Graduates of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy dominated the top slots in the Chief Engineer Licensure Examination, Second Engineer Licensure Examination and O.I.C. Licensure Examination.

For the Chief Engineer Licensure Examination, the first placer was Gerardo Tibor Ramirez of PMMA (85.75), while Emmanuel Ray MontaƱo Galusong of John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Iloilo City topped the Second Engineer board (88.75).
The top slot in the O.I.C. licensure test was bagged by Ronnel Soltura Leynes of Technological University of the Philippines-Cavite with a rating of 90.25. - Sheila Crisos-tomo
